Employee experience: Laura’s diverse role creating a joyful working environment

For Laura Brown, People & Culture Executive at Happydance, variety and connection are at the heart of her role. Whether she’s managing recruitment, supporting people operations, or coordinating projects across the business, Laura thrives on the dynamic nature of her work.
“What I love most about my role is the diversity it brings—no two days are ever the same! From building relationships with the team and potential new hires to solving problems across different areas of the business, it’s dynamic, rewarding, and always keeps me on my toes,” she shares.
“It’s moments like that where you see people at their best.”
One of Laura’s favorite memories at Happydance came from a team social she helped organize. “Seeing everything come together was incredibly rewarding,” she recalls. “Watching team members bond for the first time in person or reconnect after a long time apart was so special. The creativity and energy I witnessed from everyone coming together was truly inspiring. It’s moments like that where you see people at their best.”
The recognition Laura received for her efforts, from both leadership and the wider team, made the experience even more meaningful.
“It’s fulfilling to know my work creates a joyful environment.”
Laura’s work is integral to Happydance’s mission of creating a thriving, inclusive environment. “Finding the right people to join Happydance is such a key part of what I do, and it’s amazing to see how their unique talents help shape our success.”
Laura also plays a big role in bringing the remote team together, whether by organizing events or working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my work helps create an inclusive, collaborative, and joyful environment where everyone can thrive.”
“Dive in, learn, and grow!”
When asked for advice for new team members, Laura offers a simple yet powerful perspective: “Be willing to dive in, learn, and grow! Don’t be afraid to ask questions, suggest new ideas, and truly make the role your own. Happydance is all about collaboration and creativity, so take every opportunity to contribute and shine.”
For Laura, Happydance is much more than a workplace—it’s a space where difference, collaboration, and creativity come together to make every day an opportunity for impact.
