From a 23-Second Nibble to a 3-Minute Bite: Warburtons' New Careers Website, Built with Happydance

Group 1073715365

Warburton’s new careers website gives candidates a proper look before they apply. In its first 30 days, they spent 3 minutes 2 seconds actively engaged, up from 23 seconds before launch, with nearly four in five sessions on a phone.

Happydance today shared early results from the new Warburtons careers website at careers.warburtons.co.uk, which launched on September 15, 2026.

The careers website brings the Warburtons employer brand and its “It's How We Roll” people deal into every step of a candidate's visit. It's built around how candidates actually explore and decide. Candidates can ask questions in their own words, check how a role fits them with smart job matching technology, all before they apply.

Early results: candidates taking a proper look

From September 16 to October 15, 2026, the careers website recorded 11,260 sessions from 6,890 users.

  • 3 minutes 2 seconds of active engagement per active user, up from 23 seconds on the previous careers website (the 30 days before launch)
  • 4.48 pages per session, up from 1.50 on the previous careers website (September 30, 2025 to launch, with a different page structure, so treat this as a guide)
  • 78.4% of sessions on a phone (8,833 of 11,260)
  • 10,715 job searches (the previous careers website had no job search)
  • 8,535 content clicks and 432 FAQ clicks, neither of which was tracked before, so this is the starting line
  • 84.69% engagement rate (a new measure)

Helping candidates check their fit and get answers

Conversational navigation: Candidates asked 2,215 questions across 1,191 conversations. Role and location questions lead, which tells Warburtons where candidates want more content.

Job match: Jobs viewed with a Job match result were followed by an apply click 36% of the time, against 20% for jobs viewed without one. Candidates who check a match may already be more motivated, so this shows a link rather than a cause, but it points the right way.

Culture compass.: 78.35% who started Culture compass finished it and 92% of those results were a strong or good match. Knowing early whether Warburtons feels right is part of the point.

"At Warburtons, we know there’s much more to a career than the job title. Our new careers site gives candidates a better window into life here, from our people and culture to the opportunities available to grow and develop. Happydance has helped us create an experience that feels brighter, more engaging and much more reflective of who we are, giving candidates a real flavour of what makes Warburtons such a special place to work."
Lauren Bradley, Head of Talent and Development.
"Most careers websites get judged on how many people hit apply. The better question is whether candidates knew enough to decide. At Warburtons, candidates went from 23 seconds to over three minutes actively engaged, and they used that time to ask 2,215 questions and check their fit. Give people a proper look before they apply and they tell you what they want to know."
Bryan Adams, Founder and CEO, Happydance
